Susan Browne has a bachelor's degree in Cultural and Physical Anthropology. Teaching experience includes college
level cultural and physical anthropology, and archaeology, staff trainer/volunteer coordinator for a national women's
clinic, training work/study students for South Puget Sound Community College medical transcription program, and as a
certified instructor for the International Red Cross. Self-employment over a 15- year period has provided broad
experience in business marketing and organization, and customer service.
Ms. Browne has experience in many sports, including dance, aerobics, basketball, martial arts, golf, horse-back
riding, skiing, swimming, scuba diving, soccer, weight-lifting, taekwondo, and is in the process of becoming a
Certified Personal Trainer with emphasis on Martial Arts and Youth Fitness through the International Sports Sciences
Association. She has earned a 3rd Dan Blackbelt sanctioned through the Kukkiwon, has
11 years experience in Taekwondo,
is a Certified Referee for the United States Taekwondo Federation and Amateur Athletic Association, and has held a
national kickboxing certification. Ms. Browne currently works as a registered nurse.
As a parent, wife, nurse, consumer, trainer, business owner, business partner, taekwondo instructor, and Blackbelt,
Ms. Browne has a well-rounded foundation from which to develop and initiate sound athletic programs that assist in
the personal growth and development of children and adults through the instruction of taekwondo.

Sabomnim David Browne - Co-Owner, Sumner Taekwondo Academy
David Browne retired after 27 years of service with the Washington State Patrol,
and had a degree in Police Administration. His experience
also includes being a board member of the CAN-AM Police and Fire Games for 14 years and the CEO for 10 years.
These positions involve managing budgets, marketing, coordinating 63 different sports, their venues and officials,
codifying rules for sports, and managing the large scale operation of an athletic event that attracts up to 1500
participants every summer.
Teaching experience includes a 2 year appointment at the WSP academy, teaching accident investigation, firearms,
physical training, and self-defense. He is currently a training coordinator for the SWAT team and speaks to civilians
and other public service organizations regarding tactical operations and methamphetamine use/abuse.
As an athlete Mr. Browne has participated in and won honors in many sports, including wrestling, football, soccer,
skiing, basketball, golf, scuba diving, baseball, weight lifting, martial arts, Taekwondo, crew, and Toughest Competitor
Alive.
Mr. Browne is a 3rd Dan Blackbelt sanctioned by the Kukkiwon and has taken instruction in and taught taekwondo for
over 10 years. He has competed frequently and placed at state, national, and international level competition, and is
a 2003 and 2004 National champion. He is a certified referee and coach with the United States Taekwondo Union and the
Amateur Athletic Union, and is currently the Washington State United States Taekwondo Union vice-president. He has
spent two years assisting in training/coaching the Washington State Junior Elite Taekwondo Team.
Mr. Browne's vast experience uniquely qualifies him as a leader, proactive program developer, and instructor of men,
women, and children in the martial arts.

David Browne
Sabomnim Donna Middendorf - Co-Owner, Sumner Taekwondo Academy
Donna Middendorf has a wealth of experience through education and practical applications in different work environments.
She currently holds a B.A. in Education and Business with minors in Psychology, Anthropology, Special Education, and
Accounting. She holds a continuing teaching Certificate and is a certified 4th Dan Blackbelt under the Kukkiwon.
Ms. Middendorf also holds a Blackbelt in Kyokushinki, and has experience in Aikido, Hwrangdo, Judo, Hapkido,
and several minor martial arts.
Ms. Middendorf's experiences include 5 years of substituting in public schools, 2 1/2 years in the Peace Corps stationed
in Paraguay, 3 years owning and running a Taekwondo school, and 17 years in Taekwondo as a student and teacher.
Ms. Middendorf has competed for many years, including at the national level.
